I help Adult Clients (21 and over) to improve self-esteem, build a healthier emotional life, and become more resilient. We work together to best identify your mental and emotional needs, and explore ways to meet or exceed your goals. My focus includes dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Exercises, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Heart Rate Variability (HRV - a form of biofeedback) and other approaches as necessary. I use somewhat of an educational approach to therapy, because understanding how emotions and thoughts drive behaviors makes it easier to change the behaviors that are not working for you. I offer trauma-informed solution-focused therapy for anyone seeking positive change, personal growth, and better ways of dealing with daily challenges or life’s stressors.
My specialties include: Anxiety, Panic, Depression, Complex PTSD, and/or Transitions (changes in career, family, social, and/or spiritual). I am passionate about helping Adults discover and harness their unique strengths and understand how to compensate for their weaknesses (it’s ok - we all have them) for a more confident and rewarding life. I explain how to reprogram the subconscious, habitual thoughts and emotions that continually lead to self-sabotage in everyday life.
Finding a therapist who is a good match for your personality and unique needs is not easy! I have had clients who met with me once or twice and realized we are not a good match. I am never offended when a client asks for a referral to another therapist. On the other hand, I have had clients who were very successful and appreciated the help I was able to offer them through my methods.
